Cat 44 Catamaran Club of Fort Lauderdale
|
Hobie Cat Fleet 44 Division 8 We are a wonderfully active social sailing club, blessed with one of the best catamaran beach sailing spots in the USA.
We are out to have fun every weekend and promote the "Hobie Way of Life". While most of the club members sail Hobie 16's to keep the racing exciting and close, we are not an exclusive Hobie Club, and all catamaran sailors are welcome to join our club.
We do take time to slow down and enjoy our friends and surroundings, and while weekend racing is important, its the social scene that keeps this club so successful. Every Sunday you will find us at Fort Lauderdale's South beach, in front of the Oasis Restaurant, next to Ocean Watersports Concession.
Fort Lauderdale South Beach is a beautiful strip of of white beach kissed by the Atlantic ocean. With the shallow continental shelf and the closeness of the Bahamas Islands, the beach is protected from large surf and this makes for easy launching through the surf, at any time of the year. The warm Gulf Stream which makes its way up the coast from the Caribbean, ensures that our water temperature never drops below 70 degrees even in the winter.
With the great beaches, excellent launching conditions and warm water and weather all year round, it is no wonder that we consider ourselves the luckiest sailors on the planet. So if you are at all interested in sailing or just enjoying a great day on the beach, come on down and join us. |
Please let us know that you found us in Fort Lauderdale Marine Directory.
