HISC serves the Hillsboro Inlet area (north Broward and south Palm Beach counties). We offer active programs in CRUISING, RACING and YOUTH SAILING education. In addition we have several SOCIAL EVENTS ranging from casual after race parties to more formal dinner dances. The Hillsboro Inlet Sailing Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary during 1996. We are proud of our record of providing so many years of sailing comradeship to our members. We plan to continue with what has become a legacy of member supported safety, education and fun.
With approximately 150 member families, we are able to provide a comprehensive racing program with fleets for the expert sailors and for the not-so-expert sailors. We have 36 scheduled races a year which include around the buoys, coastal and Wednesday night Beer Can races. We have a very active cruising program with 12 scheduled trips a year to far away places like the Bahamas or Key West and to some as close as Boca Raton's Lake Boca. For the children we have a youth sailing program, acknowledged by the community, with dedicated small sailboats and expert instruction.
For the party animal, we have a great social calendar that ranges from our elegant Annual Dinner Dance to a very casual, Annual Marine Auction. In between there are sail-away dinner dances, diner dance parties and Friday night get-togethers.
Guests are always welcome at our monthly meetings. Just show up and sign in. In addition to meeting good people, the meetings usually include a program of entertainment or instruction about things that matter to sailors. Monthly General Meeting The Hillsboro Inlet Sailing Club generally meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club, 2701 N.E. 42nd St, Lighthouse Point, Phone:954-942-7724. The social starts at 7pm and the general meeting starts at 7:30pm. Please check the monthly calendar for any changes in the meeting dates due to events such as Columbus Day Regatta and major holidays such as Christmas. |
