Biographical Sketch

Ms. Croxton is President of her own business consulting firm - Margaret Croxton Enterprises - established in 1995. She specializes in consulting and lobbying efforts in the maritime industry, real estate development and marketing and promotion. Her major client is MARINA MILE 84 ASSOCIATION where she is Executive Director responsible for the fast growing Association, which promotes economic development in the area. Three cities and Broward County support the "Marina Mile 84 Association" and are helping bring to reality a master plan to upgrade the marine trade district.

From 1982 through 1995, Ms. Croxton was Executive Director of the Port Everglades Association, a group of businesses interested in the economic development of Port Everglades. As a lobbyist for the Port's user community, she represented Association views at a local, county, state, and national level. She was responsible for monitoring activities and legislation affecting the maritime community. The Association serves as the "voice of business" at the international seaport. Under her directorship the group grew from 18 participating firms, in 12 years, to more than 75.

Previous to this position, Ms. Croxton was the founding Executive Director of the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF BROWARD COUNTY. This organization was comprised of the 12 largest land development corporations in Broward County. She was a lobbyist and spokesperson for the development industry before local and county governmental officials as well as at the state legislative level. She was responsible for keeping corporate officials apprised of proposed county, state, and national legislation that effects the sound economic growth and development industry in South Florida.

Ms. Croxton was a political reporter for the Fort Lauderdale News, now the Sun-Sentinel, for 10 years.
